About Us

Greentree Quilts are lovingly crafted, reasonably priced, usable works of art. Motifs range from whimsical adaptations of traditional patchwork patterns to nature inspired original, one of a kind designs.

Custom quilt orders are my specialty. Just choose a pattern or think of a motif. I particularly enjoy a challenge - such as the 40th Birthday quilt I made incorporating baseball, music, cats, beer and fly-fishing or the wall hanging I made based on a math formula. Then there was the Bat Mitzvah quilt for Rachel which depicted the Persiad meteor showers amid the constellation of Leo. Many of the designs listed can be modified or created in the color combination of your choice.

As I am the sole designer and crafter, I take great pride in my work and customer satisfaction is paramount. My quilts are not anonymously mass-produced. I alone construct each one and carefully consider color, contract, layout, design and the recipient. I have been sewing and selling my quilts through crafts fairs and personal referrals for many years. I have also had the good fortune to be featured in the Boston Globe Magazine "Hotlines" section. Repeat customers comprise the largest share of my business and my greatest satisfaction comes when I hear of one of my quilts becoming a beloved "blanky." Please contact me to discuss your special requests. I look forward to creating a quilt for you!

What’s in a name?
My company is named “Greentree”, the English translation of “Grunbaum” to honor the influence of my maternal Grandfather, Henry Leo Grunbaum. A shirt manufacturer, he would bring home swatches of sample fabrics which I coveted and collected. Thus began my illustrious career as a fabric hoarder. Before I could operate a sewing machine or even wield a scissor, I would lay pieces side by side or have an adult cut a hole in the center in order to make Barbie one more poncho. I also seek to carry out my Grandfather’s legacy of community service and hard work through my Comfort Quilt Project.
